Lots of jumps
Saturday 10th of February 2007 by Chaz
Hello. My name is not Yak in the Vale. However, I did receive a text message from him yesterday. Something about Cothill, dogging and lubrication. Who knows?
Here are a bunch of random snaps, mainly from last weekend.

So Friday I went up Iffley and met up with Jib from Epsom way, who’s at Brookes uni. Here he throws the T-bar pencil in a 180 degree rotation. Snapped brake cable meant some squirelly moments from him. I don’t know Jib too well, but decided over last weekends festivities that he is definetely one rad dood.

Saturday Jib came to Banbury, but unfortunately I have no snaps from that. He did however get nuts on the worlds best jump box.
Sunday was the best day in aaages for me. Picked up Jib from Oxford station, and went to meet Aidan aka Aidzilla at Cotdeath. He has built so much by himself it’s obscene, summers sizing up to be a good one in those woods. Real motivating to go to the woods solo more often. Here Aidan points out some doggers lurking in the distance, all naked and stuff. Perhaps.

Riding jumps early February is definetely not something to take for granted. Only a couple were working, but that was plenty of fun. Everything was a little slow, so the day consisted of a large mount of hucks and tucks. Here Aidzilla makes the latter of the two look jolly good.

This berm is rad. So big and wafty, and you can go whatever line round it you like. Aidan strikes a mid berm facial expression for media’s sake.

This photo was real dark, so had to play about for ages with it to make it look alright. Jib with a turndown, which may or may not be mistimed. Pretty kooked whatever the weather. A bit like the colours in the shot really.
After taking Jib to the train station and saying our goodbyes, me and Aidzilla bought pizza and went back to see Yak. We watched videos, ate pizza and chips, and read theshovelload on paper. Hopefully it won’t be too long til the next rendezvous. Cheers for being so hopitable guys.

Here’s a snippet of what we’ve been playing with this winter. Shaping up to be rad. Ollie and Jesus were digging Sunday whilst Aidzilla entertained me. Upon arrival, they were greated by about 15 kids, some of whom were riding our unfinished and wet jumps. From what I gather, G had stern words involving spade purchasing, which the kids weren’t stoked on. This picture is by no means an open invitation to the skatepark rats of Bournemouth area to turn up spadeless with bikes. We are by no means salty or old men. Turning up uninvited during winter with bikes not spades, however, does not leave you particuarly welcome in future. Here Marcus and Ollie work on seperate jobs, for the sake of our summer.

On a final note, heres a photo I had forgotten about from a drop in last weekend. RIP Kiddy. This place is home to many, many good memories. Probably 7 years ago when I started riding, we would get the train to Oxford, ride to Kiddy, ride all day, back to Oxford and train home. Those were the days. Always an obscenely hot day at Kiddy too. Although many locals have moved on to other projects and places, this place always ruled. Nostalgia.
If you’ve read to here, you have persevered relentlesly. Congratulations. Hopefully many more rad updates to come with my new camera. Blewbmx for president. x
