Oxford Wheels Project Carnival

BMX picture

Just a quickie which I should have put up before… Oxford Wheels Project demo and stuff tomorrow (Sunday). Go help out a good cause. Will do a proper update tomorrow! A few skate ramps and riding I expect. Lets hope the rain stays off.

Epic session during the winter of June

Hit up Epic on last Sunday evening for the first time in ages, pretty rad session with all the older riders from back home, always a good time. It was the first time I’d used my wireless flash set up, and not much came out brilliantly, but it was the start of a learning curve.

BMX picture

John is fifteen years old, listens to rubbish music, has a silly haircut and was holding foot jams on the sub box for at least three seconds. He’d never done this before, pretty impressive stuff.

BMX picture

He also has nose wheelies DOWN on the mini ramp fully along the coping and back in. Dialled ass kid. He ain’t no Vic Murphy but he’s god damn alreet.

BMX picture

The chase hawk kickout blended with the foot jam is also another of his top moves. Should have done a table.

BMX picture

These photos are a too dark, but I guess I’ll learn to use the new equipment quick enough. On walking through the skate park entrance, I was also greeted by the smiling face of Luke Peeters of cheltbmx fame. Always a pleasure to see that kid, never a moment without a smile on his mind tank And never a moment on the bike where he doesn’t do something obscenely impressive. He carved up the vert wall and gave us a cheeky look over the shoulder too, which was jolly amusing. I really, really want to go back to Pitville park, that place is too good, not surprising the locals are so dialled. Lookback on the mini from John.

BMX picture

Our woods back home have gone from some ratty overrun jumps to a dialled as set of lumps in one week. I’m really stoked on this, and a great part of this is also thanks to young sonny jim me lad, Greggory. He was coasting over a gap from vert ramp to mini which was really cool, got a couple of sweet photographs of this. He is one sweet dude, as I have mentioned in previous posts.

BMX picture

This is one of my favourite photo’s I’ve taken in a while, the same gap as before but from underneath. I don’t usually enjoy Epic much but had a real good time, especially in the bar.

BMX picture

Matt Roe was also there and shredded it HARD. That kid is too good on a bike. Shame I didn’t shoot any photographs of his antics. Hopefully I’ll get lots more use of the new flash when the rain stops some time ever, and get some really dialled photographs. I’ve shot a few good un’s this week in Bournemouth so update from that soon too. I’ll leave you with a stormy scene out in the sticks back home. Ending the update in a similar manner to which the worldly accepted daytime ends and night time begins. Adios.

Aversion roadtrip day two part 1

lima air

Day two two started waking up on Lima’s floor with Aidan and Chaz. Felt pretty rough, but set off in the old car for the legendry Alianos trails. Lima air out the end quater.

max

Lima and people knew Jay and he was a hero for letting us all ride his jumps. Cheers! The trails were pretty tech, lots of rollers and stuff. Took people a little while to get used to. Max got the hang of things and was blasting out stuff like this no-foot can all day long…

max table

Table boost by Max Wood.

And just a boost at height…

Max tailwhip midset…

Same thing, differnt angle.

Will Herman with an old-skool. I think he also opposite twisted this jump if I remember right.

This was so rad to see, twist table pulled so good.

Aversion Louis turndown

Aversion Louis with a dialled turndown!

Lima Pipe Poll and Daz on spine

Break time on a shady, but fun spine. Part two of day two soon!

Just read about Stephen Murray’s mishap which has pretty much left him paralysed… Puts into perspective not being able to ride for six months for me. Here’s a video of Mr. Murray riding day before accident, then go read this and donate some money, think we can all relate to how bad this must be. Fingers crossed he gets better.

Vintage vehicle show sickness

BMX picture

This Saturday Eddie and I headed to the vintage vehicle show just outside my village, to check out some really old rad transportation. Apparently the biggest show of it’s kind in the country. Does Liam get one of those as part of his Gumball deal?

BMX picture

Tanks are officially sick. No one’s going to get in your way in that. For sale, £17500 that one was. Bargain.

BMX picture

1939 Austin car, probably had some sort of important war personnel in it at one point.

BMX picture

The American civil war society reinacting some violence from across the pond. There was so many people getting fully stoked on this. Canon smoke going everywhere.

BMX picture

Nothing runs like a Deere. John Deere tractor, apparently my granded had one the same years ago.

BMX picture

Massey Ferguson with massive back wheels and a waffer front one. Much cooler than a Reliant Robin.

BMX picture

“On a mission”

BMX picture

Tiny tractor…

BMX picture

and a massive steam engine!

BMX picture

You wouldn’t see town and city folk doing the school run in one of these and wasting way too much petrol. A proper off roader.

BMX picture

Real old fire engine. Think they’ve made some improvements since these days.

BMX picture

I want this truck, too rad.

BMX picture

Classic motorcycles. There was loads of diferent types of bikes, kept absolutely mint.

BMX picture

BSA scramble (motorcross) bike. Wouldn’t fancy hitting jumps on that, or seeing Pastrana double flip it over an 80 footer.
Stoked on going to this show, hadn’t been since I was about 10 years old, I’m a country boy through and through. Look out for a riding update in the next couple of days too. The shovel load is pretty rad, nothing on blewbmx but I’m pretty stoked on the site, congratulations guys, good work.

Aversion roadtrip day one

So day one of the Aversion road trip… Going to put up pictures from each day of the Aversion trip in the next few days. Team Bew BMX was me (Ed), Chaz and Aiden. We all squeezed into Chaz’s Clio and set off. The first day we all met up at Cheltnam Pitville park. Had wanted to go there for ages so was rad to finally go there. You can do cicuits round the outside and keep going all day. Also 3 boxes!

Benny with a turndown at height.

Lima (thanks Chris) with a hip air

All the locals completely shred the place, Benny is so good it’s un-true! Turndown over one of the hips.

And one over the volcano… The ramps were pretty slippery but still fun.

You have to see these to beleive them, Benny 360 stunt over the box.

Kickout by Aversion Louis, the man behind ‘organising’ the trip.

Louis again with a good table on the box. First time properly meeting Louis and its safe to say he is a super nice guy, and well done for sorting out the trip idea. Go look at the Aversion website for more stuff from the trip.

Another local Tomwith a turndown. I missed the box but never mind eh

Pipe kickout on the box. Pipe also backwards hopped over a rail which was way good but I didn’t get any media.

Gav Shorthall had a broken rib but was still shredding real good - nosed in 360

Un-turndown by Higgins.

Wow. Invert at height by Benny, the rest of the trip looks on in awe.. Chaz geting his camp on in the background.

Gav 360 on the street spine.

Benny quater table

Team aversion trip! And some locals too.

I think this already got onto the internet, but still rad. Human tower. Crazy Antix Pete is still at the top of his game!

Not long after…. Check Cheltbmx for more Cheltnam BMX stuff

First day’s riding was real good, everyone was getting their trick on. We were originally going to Bristol that night, but ended up going to Pipe’s house, then onto some poor girls 18th party at a Rugby club… Good times were had, and too much destruction caused. Wantage is amazing.

Day two will be put up in next few days so check back.
