Evenings in the park

John 3 lookback

John 3 lookback

Just a quick update from skatepark sessions over the past few days of summer. At last. John learnt spine 3’s a week ago or so.

John amazes me every time I see him ride. One weeks doing these and they got pretty good.

Quick learner?

This one was a bit dark and looked a bit rubbish, so I B&W’d it. Working outside doing landscaping is much more fun when the sun shines.

Richy P got style…

Richy P is hot stuff, especially in his womens sunglasses. He is modelling for Gucci in London this week. No jokes.

Chris tucker

Big old tucker

Josh on the other side of the lense for once. ISO400 by accident. Still pretty good though considering.

Street dog joe 90

Callum is the blackest white man I know. Complete street boss that’s got some style as a side order. Another 15 year old rat who learns stunts too quick.

Aerial

Aerial

This guy was from Leamington or Warwick I think. I sat on the deck and saw him air in front of me, it looked rad. So he was kind enough to perform for the camera again.

What a clown

What a clown

Gucci got themselves a good ‘un, I know that much. I will type something worth reading some time when I don’t want to get out the house and enjoy the sunshine. Make the most of it people, it’s been a long time coming, and who knows how long it will be until the sun goes away again. Weeeeeeeeee.

Worcester BMX jam

Two and Eight Worcester trails and park jam flyer, benfit for Stephen Murray fund

Two and Eight are holding their Worcester jam on August 25th, and this year there is a twist it is spread over two days first at the Worcester concrete park, and the second day at Aliano’s trails. All the money raised is going to help Stephen Murray.

The trails are normally invite only so you’d do well to go down there and ride/watch some BMX and also help out a good cause. I went to Aliano’s trails a while back and they are shit hot. Also props to Adi for doing such a good flyer for it, I really rate it.

Here’s a picture from when we stopped off there a while back. More pictures are here and
here. I haven’t been to the concrete park, but it is supposed to be pretty good. It’s a shame the wooden park got taken down had some good times there proper back in the day with Hereford Ben, Dando and crew. Councils are dumb I guess.

For more information on the jam go to the myspace page.

Floods

Chill by Pipe at Pitville skatepark in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Got back from my girlfriends house who lives near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire so thought I would put some more photos up from the skatepark there. This is Pipe doing something. Most of Gloucestershire is semi under water. The pumping station got flooded which meant that we didn’t have any running water. So couldn’t flush toilet or have a shower. Pretty mad world really, things you take for granted are just not possible anymore. Her house wasn’t flooded cause it was on top of a hill but a lot of places were. Luckily we had lots of bottled water to drink.

Flow by Lima at Pitville skatepark in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

When we went there on the trip before it was a real nice day, no floods there then. Lima flows the big box.

Tweak by Lima at Pitville skatepark in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Lima tweak on the jump box again. The park near the skatepark had water about 6 foot deep in places over the last few days. I am hoping the goverment will see sense and building huge transitioned drainage ditches all over the place… Maybe with the odd full pipe included just incase? You know it makes sense.

Group shot by All at Pitville skatepark in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Here’s a group shot I don’t think I put up before. Weather is a bit better today, hopefully will stay this way for a bit.

Gotta love pissed off security guards. Worst job in the world? Good video though.

There are more pictures from the Cheltenham in the Aversion roadtrip day one update.

The concrete jungle

Updating is a strange thought process. Sometimes I want to ramble on for hours telling stories, and other times a small amount of text written quickly feels much better. Today I feel of the latter.

Sunset from my back garden

Sunset from my back garden

Got a job for Continental Landscapes which is dialled, mentioned it before I think. Now my arms are shredded up from all the thorn bushes we’ve been cutting. Makes me look well hardcore, like Ray Mears or Bear Grills.

Gregg 180ing

Gregg 180ing

Hit up the concrete jungle of Milton Keynes for a little street on Sunday. Pretty fun session. Gregg just got a KHE Reverse freecoaster which is sweet to play on, and he was sending some fast 180’s and other backward manoeuvres.

Funky sculpture in MK

Although it’s a bit of a dull bland place in many parts, there are some cool pieces of architecture and artwork scattered around Milton Keynes. This one is by the train station, and also next to the most fun manual line in the world. Possibly.

Moving home?

Moving home?

Some guy with a couple of bags and another guy carrying an erect tent. They could have been homeless people moving plot. That is just one of the many reasons for which someone would be in a city centre with a fully built tent over their shoulder.

Mk train station

Not sure what these flag posts were flying. That building could be one of those little mirrors that you get in shoe shops for checking out your potential new kicks, only for the jolly green giant to use.

Danny boy stunt nut slides a ledge

Danny boy Tobin is a street assassin, just like Chris Stevenson on Road Fools 3. Yeh boi. Top Gear polar special is on right now, and is a treat. If you’re reading this and don’t know what I’m talking about, you missed out.

Double tyre ride

Double tyre ride

The majority of spots we stopped at in MK, I didn’t ride much. Took some photo’s, none of which I was particularly ecstatic about. Some days you feel it, some days you don’t.

Taking photographs of people chilling is fun. Get a hair cut you biker goth!

Bus station skate spot decor

Bus station skate spot decor

Random spraying on the walls of the bus station, along with a broken looking electrical appliance with skate shoes and a jacket hanging down. Not sure if this is a set up piece or has just accumulated from the skaters at the spot. Looked rad whatever the case. Lookout for more sneak previews of the Blewbmx calendar, including Luke Peeters riding street dressed as a pixie, and Yak building a dirt quarter in his girlfriend’s underwear. Ear to the ground on that one.

No more sling

Chaz has got some good flow going on. I am out of the sling now so starting the long old physio road to recovery. Had first session today and it hurt a lot, but already seeing improvement so I am real happy about that. Still can’t pick anything up for next couple of weeks, but at least this isn’t one handed typing anymore! I can’t really move my arm more than about 45 degrees in any direction which is an odd feeling cause when I was in the sling I didn’t realise just how limited the movement was.

Table by Chaz at Pitville skatepark in cheltenham

Going to Cheltenham for a few days to see the lady. Aprrently there is no water in the taps at her house so I may be getting very thirsty, but will probably be able to just drink it out the street in Gloucester! Weather is too nuts these days, just hope it’s not like this every summer from now on. Maybe people will take global warming serious now? Who knows, probably not.

So if anyone from Cheltenham reads this I might be down the park something this week I guess, or in town for a sneaky pint. Holla at me!
