Even more photo mania

Here’s a new set of photographs taken by the young scallywag, who I like to call, me. Joshy B is a rad photographer that takes some rad shots, I may have mentioned him before. Here he is on the other side of the camera getting equally as rad, just like the eighties feature film Rad. Three different alley oops at three different moments in time from three different angles over one hip.

This weekend was the best one I’ve had in a little while. Got loose as funk on Friday night in my village, stories of more detail can be read here
on Richy P’s Myspaz blog. We rode four different places on Saturday, including the old school legend that is Combe bowl and the joyful bliss of Grove. Met up with Timmy, Jibble’s and Jamie ‘Ghetto Youth’ in Oxford Saturday night for a chiller for an hour or two, Jamie is lightweight. And not in the sense of his bike, two beers boy. Sunday we rode Gay Woods, which are rad jumps and have nice locals. Even saw this chap from years back, Sam Skinner if my memory serves me well? Really splendid chap whatever his name. In honour of his wonderful blog, here’s model look Rich.

This morning I got back from work really early. A tree was across the road, so we went another way, then headed down another road where we swerved round one tree and caught another but got away with it. Then as we went round a corner, another lorry swerved into us, clipped our wing mirror on the driver’s side and smashed the mirror and driver’s window. Jason got glass in his eye, luckily it wasn’t too bad, and we had to drive two hours back because the window needed fixing. Less hours of work money, but handy update time. Plus I got PA Woods today, which is fucking unreal, thanks for being a good importer Joe, this DVD makes Props videos look like poo. Trail videos are the best thing ever.

The last one’s out of frame but too wild to scrap. Hurricane Betty seems to be in effect, it’s unbelievably windy outside my house right now, not cool. Looks like a nibble session’s on the cards, plus hat shopping round town and sorting out Visa’s this afternoon. Watch the link from Lightsinthewoods, Pipe and Dead End make a great combination. Until next time, make the most of, and cherish, every session which could potentially be your last ride in the woods for 2007.

Skatepark photo updating

Just a bunch of photo’s I have taken recently down the local in Banbury, been getting really stoked on taking photographs recently, few good ones in here. There aren’t really any exciting stories to tell behind these shots, so I shall just post them up quickly…

Dead End jam weekend

Timmy 1 legger

Timmy 1 legger

So last weekend, I headed down to the sunny seaside for the Dead End BMX jam at Weymouth skate park on the south coast. I headed down by myself to meet up with Jesus in Bournemouth, and met Timmy, Pipe, Aidan and Yak at the park.
Dead End is a company run by Leeroy of 5710, who go about things the right way and are starting to put out some parts and more fresh T shirt designs. Head to their myspace to find out more and support the cause.

If you want to see good pictures from the jam, Theshovelload is where you need to be, not here. Loads of crazy riding went on in the day, some loose kid bomb dropping from back rail to midi ramp, loads of flairs, although no one wearing them, and anything Aidan did was generally crunk. I heckled the shit out of almost everyone there for taking BMX even slightly seriously, and Ollie spread yet more of these vicious rumours he seems intent on spreading about just about everyone and their dog. Stop it Ollie!

Ollie classic style

Much more importantly than any BMX action, Saturday night was most definitely party night. We headed back to Ollie’s place in Bournemouth, and hit up some sweet cheap cider right off the mark. Timmy and Pipe pretty much shut down the evening open mic session with the background beats of Dizzee Rascal. Watch out channel U, streets is watching, Lightsinthewoods battle team coming soon.

So we’d had it in a fashion through the day, so went off to Bournemouth to have it through the night. When we arrived at the Consortium, the four of us chilled it for a few minutes, then were greeted by the noise of Luke, Jefferies, Johnny and more. Timmy was amazed that Luke can ride so good, when he fell through the door and landed with a chair on his head. Jefferies ended up kicked out for me and him wrestling in the stairs, but they let me stay. Logic? We made some love in the end anyway.

Messy?

Messy?

This sums up the state of most. We chatted shit to some chicks on the way home, then stumbled across the strip club. Timmy stole a massive flower pot and gave it to the strippers smoking outside, who were stoked, and named him the hobbit or something similar. He’s such a charmer it’s untrue.

Evil looking Pipeson

Crazy looking Pipeson

Who knows how we got to Ollie’s house, but Timmy produced the video footage with trying to force out as much poo as possible. Pipe got the rigger boots on, for the rigger boot disco in Ollie’s front room. He’s one hell of a host young Dave.

We then showered Timmy in a couple of litres of vegetable oil, he could have made the front cover of Men’s Health proud. He went to bed like that and woke up still naked, proper sticky with vegetable oil and probably bad aids. Who knows how he got it all off in the end, horrible stuff it is.

After drinking a shit load of orange juice and eating a bunch of French bread, we hit up Slade’s for the early morning session. No one felt this much, not surprisingly, so we headed off to our jumps in the woods. Unbelievably, Timmy managed to still pull through and kill every line, on his new Mutiny ‘Limousine’, as did the less haggard Pipeson. Unfortunately, at this time, my flash equipment was still playing up, so I only managed a couple of mediocre shots. The one of Timmy double canning is still bloody awesome, even if I do say so myself.

After a short but fun session at our jumps, Timmy, Pipe and I headed off to Epsom for a evening ride. By this point I felt a little better, so had a really good ride at those jumps, which are obscenely smooth and so much fun, just flowing around doing bar turns and bike leans. Watching Liam and Matt Priest ride the big line was definitely a treat not to be missed.

Timmy floating about

Timmy floating about

There has been a large proportion of Timmy photographs in this update, for which I am truly sorry! Guaranteed good times whenever Timmy’s about. Rode Harrow and Gay Woods yesterday with Richy P, both of which were absolutely amazing sessions, got really stoked and had the best fun in ages. I love bikes. Didn’t shoot any photos unfortunately due to non stop riding at both spots, plus Harrow ghetto youths. Look out for a shed load of photos from down the local some time soon.

Good snowboard video

Not BMX news but just watched this snowboarding video by Standard films and it’s pretty good. Can’t wait to get back on the snow this winter.

Stephen Murray Jam

No foot can

Braaap. A real treat today, some more pictures from the Stephen Murray trails jam at Alianos. Was a little while ago now but I have been working full time. I have finished there now, so no more lunches down the pub before an afternoon of work. In Bath next week

Nil hander! No handers seem to be pretty in fashion at the moment which is a pretty good thing if you ask me. I think people will start doing more supermans soon too. I used to do them when I was younger and slam super hard but it was worth it

I am doing a weeks work experience at Future publishing taking some photos and seeing what goes on in a big studio. Who know might learn how to take good photos. Then back to uni next weekend for my final year… No idea what I am going to do after that. Hopefully take some photos and make websites but time will tell.

Big no-foot can

Maybe going to Oxford tonight to play pub golf? Who knows. Digital BMX is usually worth checking as is Derlelict BMX.
