Last English update until March from me

So my Dad and I decided these two massive trees out the back of my house needed cutting down, felled them, cut them up and then had a big bonfire out the back of my house. Should have saved it for November 5th I guess, never mind hey. Country boy indeed.

In honour of Ollie gunshot Davey D polish digger skid row Ollie, I decided learning proper style tables would be good. I’m stoked on them, going to get them all hanging off the bottom of the bike like my new hero, Tony Cardona. I’m on the home page cos I’m fame hungry, take it. Me old mucker Oakey dokey took these photo’s of me, thanks a lot sunshine. I hate the kid in the background of the euro photo.

So last night myself, Danny Boy and Eddie Chaffe went to a gig at an arts centre. Forced to drink a bunch of Ouzo, watched some PA Woods, and planned out a rough idea of the route we’ll take around Australia beforehand. Turned out it was a seated gig with a bunch of wet flannel teenagers singing about topics like being fanny flaps from what I gathered. After party was in some village with about twenty houses about 12 Miles away, so decided that was a good idea.

After more drinking back at Eddie’s and watching street videos, we got a taxi to this village. Guy had no idea where the place was, eventually found this barn ages away from anything else. It was a proper 1990’s-esque illegal style rave playing drum and bass, loads of sketchy wrecked kids, plus three bmx riders with a big bottle of vodka and ouzo going nuts. Met some rad girl who was a proper raverhead, did some kissing, raved hard, smashed shit, explored fields and barns, nearly smashed a bad boy’s car with a big fence I fell through, and ended up having to make a quick exit. Got in a taxi, then ten minutes later the taxi people rang, we were obviously in the wrong one. Strung out pretending we were still waiting for one on the phone for a long time, treats! Got in at 5:30, feel like death now, pussy.

Danny Boy got himself a sweet load of new bike parts, painted everything else up nicely, and now has the best looking street bike since Will Taubin on Neighbourhood Superheroes. Tomorrow we here in Banbury should be receiving the treat of a visit from theshovelloadisasellout.com + Jibbles. I’m sure Aidan shall boast for a long while, about the fact he has a Segment sticker. He’s so commercial it’s untrue… hopefully boozy woozy too.

This update marks a landmark for me, being most probably the last update I will complete on British land for over four months. My fellow pirate and I will be heading off on the journey of a lifetime at 12:20 on Wednesday. If there’s one thing I do not look forward to doing on this trip, it is sitting on the plane for 26 hours. Other than that, I really look forward to learning a hell of a lot about a whole other world. Have a sweet winter everyone here, take care and have lots of fun at all times. If you don’t already, also listen to Russell Brand’s radio show, best radio content of the week. I’ll try to update from the other side of the world with any luck. See you all in spring my lovers. x

I’m the moon, I don’t pay fuckin dental fees

So here is a bunch of random photo’s that I’ve been taking lately. Rob O Rob has gone and disguised his magic carpet as a skateboard, and now spends his time hovering over waist high rails to make people trip out.

Tommy G and I headed over to Cheltenham park some time in the last fortnight too. Having that place to yourself is amazing; you can just go every way over every obstacle, if only it was made of wood. Tom rode the best in ages, killed everything, really good to see the bald bastard getting stoked on riding again.

Banbury park is without a doubt one of the best little parks in a while, with the highest rate of ghetto rats on shit bikes sat in your way ever. I love making John do stunts for the camera, although he usually crashes out as soon as I call something out. Some sort of bad karma going on there. John’s aunty told my friend who met her that he was in the top thirty riders in the country. What a little liar! He sucks! Here are three photo’s of him riding his favourite skate park, the little ripper.

Two reprobates from Croydon way came to stay the other weekend with young Jibbleton. We planned on riding Wisley, but due to wetness ended up at the poor substitute of Abingdon. It’s pretty irrelevant where you are when you get to ride with some really rad kids though, which is exactly what happened.
It’s just 8 days until I depart with young Eddie Chaffey to the land of upside down people and animals with mini me’s in their front pockets. Excited doesn’t come close. I even got a box from a GT to put my bike in on the plane, mega.

Went to Chertsey yesterday with young Aidzilla, which was more absolutely fabulous than Jennifer Saunders. Those jumps are too much fun, and the locals ain’t too shabby neither mush. Got to see young Crazy Peter which was lovely, been a while, hopefully he got some cool photo evidence of our fun too.

Everyone should go listen to Regina Spektor. She is pretty much the greatest female vocalist since Scary Spice. I bought one of her LP’s off Ebay the other day, follow me into musical bliss my children. Go buy Begin to Hope.

In other news, Aidan made Dew Tour with his signature one foot tyre grab.

Street stunts

Holy shit an update by me on here at long last. Has been a while. In the past few weeks I have mainly been drinking and taking non-riding photos. Student two 4 one on cocktails is always messy.. People should read Catfish. My shoulder is starting to feel better now, I can ride around on it, no stunts yet but still good to be back out riding BMX. Went out and took a few pictures yesterday in Cardiff.

BMX scene

The BMX scene was pretty good yesterday, 7 of us were out riding… Gotta be a record. Went to a school and people rode a pretty rad little bench setup thing.

Chertsey Jam

So last weekend was Chertsey jam, possibly the best day of the year. Lots of rad people turned up in a lot of amazing costumes, great to see so many people made a lot of effort for the day. There’s nothing to say that can convey just how good it was, if you missed out, you really missed out.

Trail jams with the atmosphere this had are the best. No comping, no one upping, just everyone chilling, having fun, riding one of the best sets of jumps in the UK. I hadn’t really ridden much there before, and the place is so much fun, everything works so well, is perfectly built and goes on forever. You need the stamina of Lance Armstrong at his prime to ride there all day. Riding wise, Will, Liam, Clark, Kent and Timmy were what i remember being good.

Looks like summers pretty much gone now. Although the summer has been far from perfect it’s been pretty rad regardless. Just a shame the amount of trails sessions was very limited through many parts of the season. Two weeks on Wednesday I head out to Oz and NZ, really exciting yet scary stuff. It will be good to be away for the typically worst weather on the calendar, but I can see myself still missing good old blighty a fair bit.

Also have something to look forward to getting back from NZ, hopefully going to be moving to Oxford with two tearaways known collectively as theshovelload, really excited about making that happen, living in a new place and helping make a sick scene in Oxford.

Will Hermann had gone to quite some effort with his attire, but throughout the day lost it for jeans and a T-shirt. He then looked like either a chimney sweep or a blacked up racist, really funny looking. He too is escaping winter for a while, have lots of fun me lad. More fancy dress photos can be found here, here, and here. Check them out for some cool snaps and possibly a video Also check this for a few portraits I took for a friend, for his hippity hoppity site.

Thanks a lot to Rob and the other locals for building the best jumps I’ve ridden and for letting us come and ride them. People like that are way overlooked in this little world of Bmx. All you have to wait for now is dark grimey winter nights, and internet salt telling you everyone and their grandma should be digging non stop until spring. So dig some jumps and get haggard down your local I guess. Love you.
