This day was really nice. Empire of Dirt update to come, I’m sure you’ve seen stuff elsewhere already, basically one of the best weekend’s I’ve ever had, so many stories to be told.

Hello internet, it’s been a while. I’ve been having way too much fun to update this lately, but am tired so shall make a summer’s exception. Here’s a

little list of some of the fun things that I have been doing;

Got punched in the face by a fat chick

Drunk lots of red wine, cider and rum

Ridden the woods lots

Seen rad people I haven’t in a while

Went to four sets of trails in one day

Got sunburnt on my nose

Driven around really fast thinking I’m mega in my car

Hardly touched a skatepark in months

Went to Truck festival

Had lots of fires and bbq’s

Seen too many amazing places whilst working mostly three days weeks pretty much

Sent it ’til Sunday

Saw Russell Brand do stand up live and phone the police as part of the act (TREATS)

Even more things that I don’t remember…

So yeh, Luke Peeters came down with Stu and rode round a berm backwards mid pack, savage. He also took some t’riffic photo’s of myself and the boy with the golden guns.

Anyway, Truck was rad. Pipe rode a 10 foot bike whilst shouting, ‘Out the way, Lights in the woods mother fuckers!’ with Aidan on the back. We got nuts on stage. Lima necked a rockstar chick. I got stoked on Eddie the Eagle apparently. We had a nuts picnic. Aidan made it into the Oxford Mail. Bizzarely bumped into a rad girl from Btown as a walked around like a zombie early morning. Saw Camera Obscura do an awesome set. Pipe and I flicked the trip switch.

This is fun

That’s your lot pretty much. Empire this weekend is going to be obscene, if you’re not going you have issues. For everyone watching the raddest BMX event

So a few weekends ago myself and this silly nana headed North for the weekend to the land of Brighouse…

We were warned of rain but greeted with this…it was even raining at Tesco in Brighouse but pulled through for the woods five minutes away

Dan no longer lives with Diesel the scary guard dog, Black dog and Jack, but we did pop by the farm to see some gurning cattle

Saturday night we stayed at John and Dan’s place. They sorted us out with food, intoxication and hospitality. Ride Uk Oct’ 1995, Slades, treats.

This is how our days were spent, barbeque smoke, chilling area, perfect jumps, doesn’t get any better

Dan dialing in, he runs a super tight ship at that place, everything is always mint and running. He even has a washing machine named Candy…

Jack hip blasting

Jack is a rad dude. He ‘got his first Bmx in ‘84, but didn’t start riding proper ’til ‘87′. I was born in ‘87. Whilst staying round the house we watched Barry on a Grifter, which is mainly early 1990’s footage, much of which Jack saw live at the time. So much Bmx history it’s unreal. After a few bangers, he even used his Dr Dolittle-like powers to lure a moth into thinking it was a parrot and sit on his shoulder, which was suitably named Keith. So funny in the moment.

Aidan took a shot of me on an awesome hip. During this moment I was really really happy.

John also spent time in Australia, alot more than me. He seriously has the place wired, and makes a mean fry up.

Wafting

Dan blasting the wacky new line. Every jump is different from the last and equally as fun. Jack is most probably just out of frame cooking up some sort of seafood, or perhaps even more fresh pasta…

So that’s it for this much delayed update. Haven’t taken many snaps lately, been having good times a’plenty down our place over the last few weeks. Luke Peeters took some good ones the other day, and did something on a berm that was absolutely obscene. Video of that somewhere some day I hope…
Enjoy the sun whenever you can. I rode a skatepark for the first time in a while yesterday, mainly spending the short while contemplating why I wasn’t in the woods. Trails season is on.

Good old Dan Beach had been busy filming all summer, and has produced a good little web edit. Featuring no other than yours truly, Jim, Baz, Miles etc. Some real good riding in there and definitely reminds of some good times in Cardiff and places.

I now back in Oxfordshire and have a small studio setup in my garage so if any Oxford people wanna come over and get rad, do it….
