Check out this badass from the car park at Abingdon, the ultimate BMX automobile.

Table at Abingdon’s new park

Went and met up with young Aidan at his new park in Abingdon last weekend. Him and Yak never ride good when I’m around. On this day, Aidan snapped his chain and crashed five minutes into the session. There’s some sort of bad karma going on, and I have no idea why. One of his friends took this photo of me that day, cheers buddy.

Gunny had never ridden Radley before, and got so excited it was unbelievable. He loved the place, and with good reason too. My weekdays have been some what dull and repetitive, with work being pretty good, and monotonous sessions down the park in the evening. I want to go cliff jumping at the quarry very soon.

Five of my friends are now three days into a two week tour around Spain and France. Lucky bastards. I am counting the days until I head off to Australia and New Zealand for four months. Twelve weeks Wednesday by my calculations. Yeeeeeeha.

Taking photo’s of skating is sometimes more satisfying than shooting bmx pictures. One evening last week was an example of one of these occasions.

I was watching the news earlier, and a guy from ‘Plane Stupid’, a group working against climate change caused by airplanes. He was clearly an educated chap, and was nothing but ridiculed and patronised by the news reader. Whatever your view on the subject being discussed, I hate the manipulation involved in the news, moulding and shaping the majorities opinions, here trying to make this group of people look foolish. I have become a proper sceptic of anything the news or politicians say, and for good reason I think. More rants on that matter some time soon maybe.

Name of the trick here?

Name of the trick here?

I don’t know what this trick is called. I worked with my mate Tony who also skates last week for a few days. I’d never really chatted to him much before, but it was amazing how many similar opinions and thoughts he held with me. It’s always good to chat to like minded people.

These are a few of my favourite photographs I’ve shot in a while. Working with different people recently makes me hate commercialism and mass marketing even more. Some people live their lives around every aspect of popular culture, especially with music. Listening to completely terrible stuff on the radio that people think is brilliant, I don’t understand what people see in it. I guess it’s just easy to take the decisions made for you by the well funded media about what’s good and what’s not, and then to be able to relate to the masses.
Bournemouth this weekend was amazing, but I’m real tired now and feel pretty rough. Fell asleep at the wheel today on the van and got a lucky escape in a seriously scary circumstance, early night tonight. Bournemouth update real soon. Goodnight.

Day of delight

So it?s been 10 days since I last got rad up in here. Was only complaining the other day that I had nothing exciting to update, when all sorts of excitement went off in one fun filled day. We shall call this day Wednesday.
So we started off hitting the woods up and digging some mean ass drainage, whilst Marcus, Chris and Leeroy got stoked on Leeroy not having the right shoes on for the woods. Lots of water got flowed off into the river which was dialled. Here Leeroy hangs his head in disgust because he?s not stoked on his best pumps and the woods.

From here we headed off to some better known jumps for a goose. Ended up getting pretty stoked on Steve rad dood Gealls mountain bike, had fun jumping a little jump on that much to everyone?s amusement. Sent some trains with two 10 year old kids with pink forks. Here?s a snap of me performing Yak in the Vale?s favourite aerial manoeuvre on a 26? bike. I may or may not be the new Jimmy Pratt.

We left here after I was all MTBed out to find some other nibble jumps some place. On the way me and Ollie got real Colin McRae in the Clio down some New Forest tracks. As we drove through Burley some unhealthy sounds came from underneath the beast?s bonnet, and as we got about a mile on the car dies and we rolled into a car park with steam pouring out the bonnet. After some ill-educated analysis the AA were called, which was going to be 1 ? hours so Marcus and the guys left for a while.
So this was where the fun started. Firstly Ollie and I wrote a gangster rap that the Fresh Prince of Bel Air would be proud of. One day I might type it up on here. Half way through this I took a pooh in the woods which was super fun, I got stoked with a picture (available on demand). As it got dark, more and more cars starting turning up. Loads with just one bloke in each, who would wander into the woods and not come back for ages. I?m almost definite we had broken down at a gay dogging site. Ollie was devastated that we didn?t see any man on man action. Here Ollie writes some of our mean rap in the lyric book. Word to your mother.

So the AA man came and picked us up. Had a little gander through the engine bay and said I needed a tow back. Pretty exciting stuff kids. Thought it was going to cost an arm and a leg to fix the automobile, but it ended up only costing 50 bucks all in all which wasn?t too steep. Here the AA man gets the tow bar on whilst covering his arse from bummers.

Me and Cyril the cat did a sick photo shoot in my house the other day. He said he likes emotional angles and only wears slim fit collars. Here he is giving me a cheeky model pose, because he?s stoked on Blewbmx.

Had some pretty rad sessions over the past few days at the skate parks. Had too much of this updating lark for one day though, so I?ll do a riding update tomorrow maybe. Hope you had a delightful time reading the life and times of a student layabout. x

All sorts of rambling

Not much seems to be happening at the moment at my end. The trails are coming along pretty well, third line well on its way, but nothing exciting seems to have happened of late, which sucks bum. I did go home for the weekend a couple of weeks ago, and myspace.com/photographyjosh snapped this table for me, which I\’m stoked on. Me and Yak in the Vale often have extensive conversations about the tabletop. Yak prefers the rectangle style, with someone of authority as head of the table, where as I go for a round table, just like the knights.

Music has been a massive part of my life for as far as I can remember, I think I must spend hours on end each day just listening to music. Recently I seem to have developed a taste for folk. Cropredy festival is held near Banbury, run by Fairport Convention, massive folk do all weekend. We always go, but usually sneak in and go for the drink and girls in tents. This year I might actually add the music played as a reason to attend, and perhaps even buy a ticket. This is a snap from my phone of Leatherat, an awesome local band we saw over Christmas.

When people told me the second year at uni is a massive step up, I didn\’t really pay much attention. Boy how they were right. The work load is obscene, assignments all over the shop, which isn\’t good when you are extremely disorganised. Oh yeh, if anyone fancys a new camera to fund my easy lifestyle, check out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150092925444&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=005 two people bidding up to a massive price tag would be splendid.

Thats a carcus that we found in the New Forest riding mini bikes last year. Lil Tom, who now resides in the wonderful town of Croydon, had a ratty bike that we scrambled through the woods on. I did some gate starts on this. The smell on the wheel in the car on the way home was not so fun.

Headed over to a park in Eastleigh on saturday afternoon, which turned out to be alright, good for a hour or two. Cottons phone was off when I rang, but he used telepathic senses to know I was going and turned up anyway. Thats a very tame kickout. A hip that most people don\’t touch meant well above backrail, but the camera wasn\’t out unfortunately. Check Bar End video for proof of radness.
I\’m going to watch Hollyoaks on E4+1, because our freeview box sucks. See you in another life. x

Random pictures and rants

Here’s some random shots from the past couple of weeks on my new photo machine, so…

Seaside and slams

One reason to get stoked on Bournemouth

Different scene to roasting mid August weekends

Pretty steep walk

I miss ths view, 11:35, 3rd February 2007. Out of my bedroom in the great beauty that is Oxfordshire. I love Oxfordshire.
My head is pretty loose at the moment, don’t know whats going on, my course is duller than Michael Winner, no idea what I’ll do if I do leave uni though. Will I regret it in years to come or will it be one of my lifes decisive moments? Only one way to find out I suppose, just not sure whether I want to! Who knows how my brain works, because I definetely don’t.
Here’s a pic I drew wrecked in my housemates bedroom the other night. She hasn’t been home since her birthday night out on Saturday, has she been abducted by aliens, who are exploring the human bodies workings before they attack planet earth and destroy all lifeform? It is a possibility. Note in the picture: fire exit on fire, heating a microwave, Adolf flying balanced on two carrier pigeons, and the transvestite pirate who is surfing on a skateboard. Anyone seen that new Nissan advert with a giant using a car as a deck? I got pretty excited. Word has it the anonamous giant could be Aidzilla of the WhiteCross massive. W.C.

Here is a picture I got stoked on this year, Farnborough skatepark hip, crappy run up riding it carving to the right. Euro thing with old chrome in a can hadlebars.

Smelly attics

Yo all. Here’s a photo I took of a motorbike and a puddle somewhere deep in wales… Cardiff represent, I have nothign riding related to tell you about. So instead I’m going to tell you all about my house.

My house at uni is pretty good, like the people I live with, but the house itself is crazy. Before christmas our boiler was leakign or something nearly killed us, so we had no heating. Our bathroom started smelling real bad the other day, but for one it wasn’t steve just laying a stinker it was something worse. We though we had a sewage leak or something, but turns out the landlord’s handyman had put rat poison in the attic. The rats had then eaten it and died, but no one had picked them up so they were just rotting. Worst smell ever. haha.

Probaly going to newport this week on wednesday if anyone who reads this is up for it. I am taking photos at NME tour tonight, maybe fun. The Autometic, the View and the Horrors are playing, don’t really know any of them that good. Photos of that up here maybe. Okay hopefully next time I post it wil have riding.

Here’s a picture from Oxford last summer. Bring on summer soon please.
