Creation skate park

So as I mentioned the other day, Sunday afternoon I headed up to the former Epic, now Creation skate park in Birmingham. After a mundane morning, I got a call from Gregg asking if I wanted a lift up with Ray, and couldn’t turn down the offer. Headed up there in Ray’s beast Audi, that car is amazing, proper road trip mobile. It’s even got a DVD player up front to watch some Mutiny road trip video on route. Ray got rage on with everyone and anyone that decided they were going to get in our path, on a mission!

Got up there to be greeted by lots of rad Banbury kids, including Josh and his buddy shooting some box stunts, and John, Butler and Craig getting rad. The skate park had changed a bunch since I last went, and had some fun looking new obstacles, want to ride that set up once the arm is fixed up and whilst the weather still sucks.

Harry Main was up there meeting Craig for a session. That kid is actually obscene, nuts twist tables, twist old schools, spine 7’s, and all sorts of crazy park radness. He was having the box fully, as well as these wild transfers from mini ramp to vert wall. Yes son.

I hadn’t seen Craig ride in ages, he did some pretty sweet stunts, riding better than I’ve seen him in a while. Few stiff ricks over the box though! His invert airs have always been crazy good, and he’s also learnt nice table airs too by the looks of a photo further down this page. Splendid.

Cheap Ebay wireless flash kits only work on slow shutter speeds it appears. It was always a little temperamental, but lately using it at about 1/160 and slower it seems to work pretty damn well. Makes shooting shots from afar a lot easier, just need to get a cheap second flash from somewhere.
John was shredding as always, airing the mini ramp obscenely high and doing plenty of tremendous manoeuvres. He also did some of the smoothest flairs I’ve seen him do, but unfortunately I didn’t manage a half decent shot of those.

Style for a country mile

Style for a country mile

Today I headed over to Abingdon with my friend Tom to see young sonny jim me lad Aidan. We decided to take a mission to see Uffington white horse. Pretty rad to go for a wander over the fields, the wind was crazy up there. The horse is carved into possibly the sickest looking sledging hill ever, want to head up there next time it snows. Tom just had laser eye surgery and it was drying his eyes out a little, not ideal by any means, so we went for a country drive all over the shire. Also checked out the trails, new stuff was looking dialled, look forward to having two working arms again and getting building rad stuff again. Sweet day of fun with two of the most amazing dudes I know.

Had some pancakes today, click here to read why we do what we do. X rays Friday, hopes are high for a 100% recovered and healed arm. Bring on spring afternoons digging in the woods, and summer evenings riding trails and drinking around the fire. This summer is going to be a real good one. Peace and love.

Epic session during the winter of June

Hit up Epic on last Sunday evening for the first time in ages, pretty rad session with all the older riders from back home, always a good time. It was the first time I’d used my wireless flash set up, and not much came out brilliantly, but it was the start of a learning curve.

John is fifteen years old, listens to rubbish music, has a silly haircut and was holding foot jams on the sub box for at least three seconds. He’d never done this before, pretty impressive stuff.

BMX picture

He also has nose wheelies DOWN on the mini ramp fully along the coping and back in. Dialled ass kid. He ain’t no Vic Murphy but he’s god damn alreet.

BMX picture

The chase hawk kickout blended with the foot jam is also another of his top moves. Should have done a table.

These photos are a too dark, but I guess I’ll learn to use the new equipment quick enough. On walking through the skate park entrance, I was also greeted by the smiling face of Luke Peeters of cheltbmx fame. Always a pleasure to see that kid, never a moment without a smile on his mind tank And never a moment on the bike where he doesn’t do something obscenely impressive. He carved up the vert wall and gave us a cheeky look over the shoulder too, which was jolly amusing. I really, really want to go back to Pitville park, that place is too good, not surprising the locals are so dialled. Lookback on the mini from John.

BMX picture

Our woods back home have gone from some ratty overrun jumps to a dialled as set of lumps in one week. I’m really stoked on this, and a great part of this is also thanks to young sonny jim me lad, Greggory. He was coasting over a gap from vert ramp to mini which was really cool, got a couple of sweet photographs of this. He is one sweet dude, as I have mentioned in previous posts.

BMX picture

This is one of my favourite photo’s I’ve taken in a while, the same gap as before but from underneath. I don’t usually enjoy Epic much but had a real good time, especially in the bar.

BMX picture

Matt Roe was also there and shredded it HARD. That kid is too good on a bike. Shame I didn’t shoot any photographs of his antics. Hopefully I’ll get lots more use of the new flash when the rain stops some time ever, and get some really dialled photographs. I’ve shot a few good un’s this week in Bournemouth so update from that soon too. I’ll leave you with a stormy scene out in the sticks back home. Ending the update in a similar manner to which the worldly accepted daytime ends and night time begins. Adios.

Talk and Epic

No updatyes for a bit, sorry about that. I even have some pictures to put up. Went to a party last night got drunk on Carlsberg and whisky from germany and was pretty funny. Some stupid person gave me a lighter with a blow torch style flame. What an idiot. I was talking to some guy and alomost lit him with it, he was seriosuly pissed off. He wasn’t happy and punched me a few times, but it was fine because i was drunk and didn’t notice so much. I weent to look at Lancaster uni and there were A LOT of people with mullet i was happy about that. Going to epic aagain tomorrow, here are some pictures from last time Kurt went. Picture marc.

Kurtish high wall ride.

Kurt does good footjams.

New hip at epic looks like fun. Going to be changed soon though?

Epic and London visits

Went to Epic with Kurt marc and azi. It had changed a lot. Thats is Kurt above. Be afraid. The jump boxes and spines are no more, but there is a treat of a wall ride setup. New stuff being built soon too i think. Looks like it going to be one big climbing wall.

I like the colour of his bike, from Stratford nice guys. Some video up soonish. High wallride.

Also from Startford (upon avon?) i think.

Mark has a new helmet.

Transfer. No brakes woo.

No foot wall plant, pulled.

Epic again.

London

Went to London too with school people. Sam on the escalator, 3 sweatband for £5, Camden market rules.

Happiest people on escalator.

Woo big crazy signs! Its like Japan but in England.

We were tourists for the day. COLD tourists at that.

Me on a big ol Lion.

Scene at trafalgar square.

Dwayne made freins with some guy who wears too much makeup.

Ohh excalator photo. Whats with the chains? We had to go a long way round because someone had thrown themselves into a train. That must suck surely theres better ways to do it?

Big ben.

Big wheel. Was going to go on till found out tickets were £25 each.

Office at 7pm.

I like this photo looks all futuristic.
