This weekend I headed down to Bournemouth to stay with some serious rude boys. On arriving in Bournemouth I went down to Ashley’s shop that he’s running for Revell bikes dude. The place is seriously the most dialled bike shop I’ve ever seen in my life, absolutely amazing. Hung out with Ash for a while, chatted some mouth words then went for a pedal at the world’s greatest skate park, Slades Farm.
After a little session with Pickles, we headed to Kings Park and met the wonderful child that is Oliver Gun. All I know is someone had attached some metal sticks to his axles…also met a cool lad called Paddy, from Dorchester, digs jumps, nuff said.

BMX Plus shop, Bournemouth
Friday night Ollie, Ash, Azza and I sessioned some bicycle motocross videos followed by Daisy’s and O’Neill’s. There were some dudes already getting rad in there, including Bournemouth’s burliest BMX rider, Kenny. That dude is obscene, and getting hitched in Vegas, ripper. Saw some real kooky band in O’Neill’s, chilled with an abundance of old people and did some heckling. Sweet.

Three rad dudes - cleaner, security and manager
Saturday we woke up haggard to a dull day, so Ollie and me did some touring. We hit up Ash’s shop, Gilly’s place, the trails, the race track, Sainsbury’s, the whole nine yards. Tried to steal a seat post from Gilly’s for fun and got caught, chilled with him, then he got told off by his boss for neglecting the other customers and ran along like a little bitch!

Scene
Saturday night got hot too. Highlights involving Aron generally being an awesome mess as usual, a strip club promoter screaming at me up the road for taking the piss, Sailor Jerry’s in Daisy’s, raving in the consortium, apparently drinking with the Hoosiers in 60 million postcards, Azza getting affection from some dude in the street. Pretty dialled night all round really.

So yes, here comes the plugging. In complete honesty, BMX Plus is the most awesome BMX shop I’ve ever had the pleasure of entering. They have so much stock it’s untrue, every part a kid could ever want. Add to that the fact that Ash knows his shit and is one of the coolest guys around, then that should be reason enough to shop there. Plus he does smelly vegan farts, which clear whole bars. Seriously, if you’re buying anything for your bike, get to this shop. The phone is a Bournemouth number (shown in the shop picture), not sure if they do mail order but try it I guess. Support a good thing when you see it.

Serious amounts of merchandise

Sprockets…
Managed to sneak in a cheeky session at the farm before the rain on Sunday. Gilly shredded as usual, Steff was generally rad and Ollie had pegs. Lee also showed up for a while, the Dead End frame looks amazing. Production models are on there way some time in the near future hopefully, so be sure to check them out if you’re in the market for a new bike. Another Bournemouth commotion that shreds life. I did some lawnmowers, got a goodbye kiss from Jesus and headed home. Also checked out the bridge on route home, the spot is sweet but I felt like a ragged little rag doll so didn’t stay long. Winch rules.

New stuff getting done this year
Far and wide the best weekend I’ve experienced in bloody ages, so much fun with a bunch of incredible guys. Cheers for the hospitality Oliver. Shame the weather’s shit the bed this week, go get muddy in the woods I guess. Remember, BMX Plus and Dead End, shameless endorsement I know. Peace and love you hippies. X
