Odd pictures with splendid stories

Here comes an update mans and gentlewomen. I haven’t had the camera out much over the past week or two, despite an abundance of fun times having happened. This is an old picture which reminds me of the good times in Bournemouth and the lovely people that reside there. This boy is alright. He’s even got a tattoo which makes him a tough guy.

So this Friday Aidan, Jen, Jib, Yak and I went out and did a disco in Oxford. In the day we went to Winchester, see someone else’s words and photo’s for more on that. We got back to 157 after a car party and drank some rum and whisky. Bus into Oxford where Aidan practiced his wedding speech for years to come, one of the best monologues I’ve ever heard. Got into a random pub, met Jib, had some giggles and headed to Aidan’s pub. As we walked in some dude’s were being thrown out fighting, standard in there! Jaggerbombs are the best, they got rinsed. Ended up in the Academy for drum & bass night, got wild as funk, discoed hard, rambled to people, saw old friends, general awesome fun. Ended up in the street shouting Shameless quotes at people down a traffic cone. Aidan’s sister got nuts the next morning because her pasta in the fridge got eaten, rad. Hopefully get some snaps from that off Jen some time.

Some good gay woods

Some good gay woods

I came up with this way of life were by everybody is only allowed three thoughts each day. I guess you have to make them good ones too. Then the rest of the day would be thoughtless and spontaneous, and the world would be much more exciting.
Ordered a new trail video going by the name of Analog yesterday. Can be purchased for a measly sum of ten pounds sterling from Segment. Check out the Ride magazine website for some previews and stuff probably.

Tibet is currently occupied by China, so I did some research. The Dalai Lama, an inherited position held by the head of the Tibetan administration has been living in exile in India since 1959, even though he is one of the most important Tibetan figures. That shows just how bad the oppression of China is and what a hostile country it must be. Political savageness.
Although the woods got beaten up a little in the heavy downpours they are still looking bloody grand. Fixed up some stuff today which was collapsed and damaged but now it looks sharp. See what I did there, aren’t I so bloody clever? Wordplay. I’m going to watch Shameless now, so should you. Peace and love. x

Nights out in Oxford

Chaz table on grove skatepark hip

Here’s a pictures of Chaz on grove hip during the recent Aversion trip ‘trails trip’.

One of my mates from uni (Ed) has moved down here for his gap year placement thing and so went out in Oxford. Deceided to go to Parkend and bumped into not only a bunch of people I havn’t seen since end of school but also the Annex crew who were celebrating Revel’s birthday. Random night.

Walked back to Ed’s house in Heddington and it took a lonnnnng time and there was a huge hill too, but it was a fun mission. We tried chatting up some Japense girls but couldn’t understand what the hell they were saying. They said they were in England in London so I guess they got a bit lost or something…

I went swimming the other day as part of my effort to get the old shoulder back into riding shape and I think I have pulled something cause it hurts a fair bit now, no doubt all will be well in a few days. Spoke to Jim on the phone who was up at our new house in Cardiff, apprently the shower was leaking for years and one of the walls fell down so that’s a bit exciting! Hopefully will be fixed when we go back there in about 2 weeks time.

Duncan from Farnborough has made himself a nice little website so check that out. Also Agenda BMX have made a couple of good zines which are worth having a read through.

TWENTY!

aha…yes…greetings.

my name is yak of the vale and a mere 5 minutes ago i managed to superglue my finger to my thumb. we dont have any sellotape and i was sticking an envelope down with superglue. worked a treat once my fingers were apart.

today smelt different to any other day. it smelt sweeter and warmer than any day i remember for a while. in fact it reminded me of riding days this time last year, pedalling to somewhere, knowing that you were gunna do 50 tucks that day. severely good times. heres a berm i changed a few days ago to what it is now.

so sorry there hasnt been any riding pictures on here from us for a while. trying to get time to ride and the weather to do it isnt as easy as it looks. ed and chaz have been producing some dialled pictures recently so they’re taking it for the team. heres some of the bigger stuff down the bottom of aidans line. a few people have asked about aidans stuff so heres about 3% of it.

heres about 8% of it. haha, dont take these stats seriously. so i got all fuzzy and warm this evening. i was on a walk to the postbox with a letter for the marvellous stu loxley with all sorts of secrets written in it. i was just in a t-shirt and had just had a bath and there was a really different feel to the world. you forget what seasons feel like after a while and if this is spring then im all yours mrs march.

speak of the angel. there he is, the little cutie. this is a picture joesmalley took roughly 2 years ago of stu over a set that was much more difficult than it should have been. stu seemed to enjoy it though. after this we went up to p’boro and later onto the woburn jam which was gash except for seeing scruffy ben, simon bamber and all the oxford kruuuw.

weeeeeee. so on the third day of the third month the immense mindblock that is aidan hit the grand old age of two decades. well wishers travelled from miles around to greet the phenomenon and to share in the moment. as a response we dressed as if we were in a band to fend off any accusations that we were not changing. we are not changing. a half friend of mine once said aged 16 that he wished he could be 15 forever. hes now in a half famous band that were on the south today bbc news.

so me and aido dressed up, went out, came home with a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of coke and drunk ourselves into an outrageous stupour which i remember at the time, sending me spiralling into all sorts of crazy thoughts of happiness and wonder. so um, heres a shady video that you may or may not want to watch. remember, curiosity killed the cat, but that also a cat has 9 lives. usual right click save target as ordeal.

thats it. except go and click this link > TRICKLIST! < now cos its from up north and contains media pages on it. and for the dang doo starling shizzle, media pages are amazing. mwaaaah xxx
